Hero Splendor Plus Injector Problem: Real Reason Why Your Bike Won’t Start (Full Fix Guide)

Hello friends, welcome to Rajesh Technical Blog! 🚩 Today I will explain why many riders face injector issues in their Hero Splendor Plus BS6 and how you can fix it easily at home.

What is a Fuel Injector?
In BS6 bikes, the old carburetor is replaced by a fuel injector. It sprays fuel in a fine mist for proper combustion. If the injector is clogged or faulty, the bike may not start or will run poorly.

Common Signs of Injector Problems

  • Bike takes too long to start or fails to start.
  • Weak pickup, jerking, or engine knocking.
  • Reduced mileage and rough idling.
  • Check Engine light on the dash.

Why Injector Problems Happen

  1. Bad fuel: Impurities, water or low-quality petrol block the nozzle.
  2. Long idle: Fuel residue dries and forms deposits when bike stands long.
  3. Low battery: Injector needs correct voltage to fire properly.
  4. Dirty air filter: Affects air–fuel balance and spray pattern.
  5. Moisture in tank: Causes rust and contamination.

Step-by-Step Fix

Step 1: Check Battery

Use a multimeter — battery voltage should be above 12.5V. If low, charge or replace it before other checks.

Step 2: Clean the Injector

Remove the injector carefully (or ask a trusted mechanic). Use an injector-safe cleaning spray or professional ultrasonic cleaning. Do not poke the nozzle with pins.

Step 3: Replace Fuel

A clogged fuel filter reduces pressure. Replace every 6,000–8,000 km or as needed.

Step 4: Use Good Quality Fuel

Always refuel from trusted pumps. Avoid local/unknown sources that may have contaminated fuel.

Step 5: Reset ECU

Disconnect battery for 5 minutes to clear stored minor error codes. Reconnect and test start.

Maintenance Tips

  • Start your bike once every 2–3 days if parked.
  • Use high-quality petrol and avoid long half-empty storage.
  • Add injector cleaner periodically as per product instructions.
  • Service the air filter and spark plug regularly.
  • Prefer authorized Hero service for FI diagnostics.

Performance After Fix

After proper cleaning and filter change you will notice smoother start, better throttle response, and improved mileage.2025/11/why-you-should-never-use-local-petrol.

Final Thoughts

Hero Splendor Plus is reliable, but modern FI systems need clean fuel and timely maintenance. Follow the steps above and your bike will run smooth. If problems persist, show the bike to an authorized service center with the symptom notes.
